Neighbor Night at PH Coffee

Neighbor Night is a community gathering designed to bring neighbors—and friends from across Kansas City—together around good food, meaningful conversation, and shared connection.

On the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, we host rotating evenings that may include:

neighborhood discussions
family-friendly activities
opportunities to support local causes and nonprofits

Neighbor Nights feature our pay-what-you-can community meal, made possible through partnerships, donations, and grants so that everyone can pull up a chair—no matter their circumstances.

Whether you’re brand new to the neighborhood, have lived here for decades, or just want a place where people know your name, Neighbor Night is built to make connection easier.

Songwriter's Sanctuary at PH Coffee

A Kansas City event for musicians to share new, original work in a supportive listening environment. All levels welcome!

The Heartland Song Network presents the Songwriter’s Sanctuary every third Sunday of the month from 2:30-6:00pm. (new time in 2026!)

Chess Club at PH Coffee

Join us in our Public House every second sunday of the month starting at 2pm.

Looking for a fun way to learn chess, improve your skills, or simply meet fellow neighbors? Join Addison, one of our amazing local neighbors, for PH Coffee Chess Club—a casual, welcoming gathering for players of all ages and experience levels.

Whether you're brand new and learning how each piece moves, practicing openings and strategy, or ready for friendly competition, there’s a seat for you at the table.

Come enjoy: Beginner-friendly chess instruction, Learning basic rules and piece movement, Strategy tips and practice games, Friendly matches, A welcoming environment for kids, teens, adults, and families, Coffee, snacks, and community while you play

Bring your own board or jump into a game with one of ours. Come to learn, compete, or simply have fun.
